Ondaris
These terms govern your use of the Ondaris mobile application, published by SCOPT Inc. ("we", "us"). By using Ondaris you agree to them. If you obtained Ondaris through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's own terms also apply to your purchase.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Ondaris on devices you own or control, for your own professional, educational or personal use. You may use the results Ondaris produces in your own work, including commercial work, without further permission or attribution.
You may not resell, redistribute or republish the application itself, nor reverse engineer it except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Ondaris Pro
Ondaris Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It unlocks the Pro calculators and features on the store account that bought it — your Apple Account or your Google account — and can be restored on your other devices using "Restore purchases". It is not a subscription; there is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel.
Purchases are processed by the store you bought from, Apple or Google. Refunds are handled by that store under its own policies, not by us.
The free features of Ondaris remain free. Every formula page — the equation, the variables, the assumptions, the validity range and the cited source — is readable without any purchase.
3. What Ondaris is
Ondaris is a calculation and reference tool. Each calculator states the model it implements, the assumptions that model makes, the range over which it is valid, and where its expressions come from — the document and clause where there is one, and a stated derivation or measured fit where there is not. Where a record has been checked against the document it cites, the application says so; where it has not, the application says that instead. Read those statements: they are the product.
4. Engineering judgement, and the limits of this tool
This is the important clause, and it is not boilerplate.
Ondaris computes models. A model is not a measurement and it is not a design. Every result it produces depends on the assumptions printed alongside it, and every one of those models has conditions outside which it does not apply — the application names them, and refuses to report some quantities outside their valid range rather than report them wrongly.
You remain responsible for deciding whether a model applies to your situation, for the values you enter, and for any professional or commercial decision you take. Ondaris does not replace measurement, a site survey, a regulatory calculation, a licensed engineer's sign-off, or the standards themselves. Where a figure matters, verify it independently.
Nothing in Ondaris is professional advice, certification, or a warranty of fitness for any particular design, installation or regulatory submission.
5. Standards and third-party documents
Ondaris cites published standards and other documents by name, section and, where available, a public link. It reproduces neither those documents nor substantial extracts from them. Those documents remain the property of their publishers, and where a standard is required for compliance you must obtain it from its publisher. A citation in Ondaris is not a licence to that document and does not imply endorsement by, or any relationship with, its publisher.
6. No warranty
Ondaris is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results. We do not warrant that Ondaris is free of errors or that its results are correct for your application.
We take the correctness of the mathematics seriously and test it extensively, and this clause is not a substitute for that work. It is an acknowledgement that no calculation tool can guarantee the judgement of the person using it.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with Ondaris is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of contracts, cost of rework, or damage to equipment or installations arising from reliance on a result.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
8. Privacy
Ondaris collects no personal data about you. It has no account system, no advertising and no analytics, and its only network requests go to our payment processor: to fetch the Pro price and check whether Pro is unlocked when the app starts, and to verify a purchase when you buy or restore Ondaris Pro. These use an anonymous identifier and cannot be connected to you. See the privacy policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms when the application changes. The "last updated" date above will change, and the current version will always be at this address. Continuing to use Ondaris after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, and the state and federal courts located in Massachusetts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer provisions of the law of the country in which you live, and you may bring proceedings there where that law allows it.
